So.   We find ourselves in a time that many of us never lived to know before. An experience which has many of us asking some tough questions in business choices, lifestyle preferences and just on the way forward with basics.   Personally, I have had a great time (I did not say easy) through much of this COVID19 country lockdown process. I know you probably asking how this could be the case as a strained entrepreneur, in a tough economy and with a pandemic which came to prove a few harder points.    I say it has been great because I am forced to rethink my position in my business, with my life and the choices I have made and am yet to. Some choices I probably could have skipped and some I would change not a thing about. Hindsight always has a way of creeping up on me with a great reality check. Youth Day is commemorated annually on the 16th June and is known for its deep-rooted socio-political significance in South Africa. I am no politician but have colleagues, and a friend like Jimmy, who understands more in those areas and so I always know I can ask him if I need a reliable political insight. Fortunately, as an entrepreneur I seldom need those. I also think we have bigger issues we find ourselves on the same side of and to fast recover from.    BUT aside from being aspirational in business, what I do identify with is being a person who still can't understand why an intoxicated man, sitting harmlessly in his stationary car and posing no real threat was shot and killed while running away from police.  What I also believe myself to be is someone who will be moved on a very personal level when seeing any youth and person of any nationality or race going hungry and being displaced. It's no secret, I'm an open book.   'An often offensive, fast thinking- speaking, falable, committed, controlling freak of genius'. By self description would I admittedly claim the above? Yes. I have no shame in making peace with pieces and in taking business challenges, often presented as rough messes, by the horns till we get them flying. There's a profoundness in taking control, in making decisions fast then implementing greatly. Personally I call it real time growth strategy. All you got to see and from the outset is great outcomes without throwing good money after too many bad decisions.  Or how better to go about it? So. It's been a while since I've been here and so has Mars or any recent exploration by SpaceX. And successful it has been and while I still champion mediocrity, by space exploration standards, we have a far way to go. See, I compete against self and little else matters. If one has to ask what the new world order is...or what the theme of the global ruling party is...it would, in two words be called - SERVING HUMANITY.  Where we are one people. Our leaders and countries have been amazing with such generosity and support being displayed. After a bad morning I decided to focus on what I needed to do. I built an e-commerce site today. My first attempt. It was liked by some of the team with some direction given and all well taken. Then I tried another template for the same store and made a mistake. I ended closing the shop. That means I'll be starting over. I wasn't happy anyway. Yes, I am still talking about Shopify!
