Let's be a Doing Nation

Image
My biggest personal impact and growth is the result and culmination of a few things. Mainly I can say it's with being the local partner to Renle Science and Technology which has opened my mind and eyes to a few things ..together with some of my own prior  exposure to bilateral maritime dealings, trade exchanges and corporate exposure. Ofcourse the country of Switzerland's local events and activities keep me forward facing with their insights and trends shared aside from having done some 3rd party, associated work. I was also engaged to a German national for a few years where I learnt alot more on a few things. Because this is a quick piece, I will end with saying that I want for us to be a united,  stimulated, growing, working and a well oiled economy - for us all to win alongside each other and with our global peers. The Collab Movement was founded with the highest intentions - and as a complementary plan - set out to achieve this with members, colleague's, or

A families pain

I spoke extensively about a book launch I attended and I believe Femicide by SA Human Rights Commissioner Angie Makwetla is a book every female and male should read. Simply because I believe we all can relate in one way or another to the subject of abusive relationships. Be it in one or witness to many. Or maybe we all need to be cautioned in one way or another. Men and women alike needing  to understand the complexities and warning signs of spousal discord or the brewing of it. I have watched a loved one for years get abused and so I could relate to the same pain I witnessed last night between all members of the deceased who had to speak about their murdered mom, sister, aunt and friend. A crime committed by their father and the kids struck with a double blow by the result of their parents choices. So often, too often, I sit across women and hear how in one way or another they too are victims of Femicide. Be it in the form of financial dependency, emotional abuse or in clearly

Launched ...now what!

As you all know, we launched The Collab Movement today. This is more a short and personal share from me but also a very, very, very, very, very big Thank You to all for making our launch day so meaningful. Us, as a bunch of South Africans, got together to get a plan going and here we are -  right next to you, with you and for us all. To co-found such an NGO for me took a bunch of commonly shared reasons and not much self convincing. In short we all wanted more. More for SA,  more for us and more opportunities happening all round. We want us to thrive as a Nation, to be a counterpart to leading economies and we felt that we can do this - with a plan. For me personally the vision also stemmed from noting developments and challenges  in other Nations, while noting ours etc. It then got me thinking hey, we have similar issues but surely we can be delivering on economic building activities as they are too. Our diverse group shared the exact same sentiments, wants and needs and so

RENLE

It's no secret. We commercially represent RENLE Science and Technology domestically. A Shanghai originating and stock exchange listed firm with Industrial Automation, Technical Innovation, Operational Intelligence and Energy application at its core. A firm which sees many global competitors trying to acquire them and which has been declined over their 20+year existence. Perhaps the most important thing to mention here is that this particular mandate and contract was able to not only sustain us in tough economic times,  but allows me to personally and independent of them, reinvest in other domestic Impact projects. The various points I'm making are perhaps that my ability to secure and to depend on "foreign investment" in my business for local commercial development and the ability to then reinvest in my country,  should leave you with more to think about. I am also extremely proud to say that as a forward facing firm which RENLE is positioned as globally,

No Women. No Cry.

I'm in an endless love affair with myself! It's a trustworthy, reliable, fun and experiences filled healthy relationship. On the eve of National Women's Day in SA I'm okay to say this. Actually I always am. This evening I sorted my space a bit, turned to some easy listening found in Buena Vista Social Club and Fatoumata Diawara. I've decided to enjoy the soft breeze at the top of the building with windows and doors wide open ..with my laptop where it mostly is - right in front of me. I don't smoke but can't help feeling that I would want to smoke like only a french women does. It's just that vibe currently. Instead I've opted for and made myself a good, Italian Blend coffee.  I am feeling that while my life is far from perfect, it is perfectly beautiful. I have some of the best thoughts and quality thought processes knowing this. Both for my business and for my personal life. I feel it's important to emphasize the reality of things since
