The Collab Movement .. as you know was born out of ordinary people who believed in having a role to do more - for us all. Our member's base currently  affirms the thinking behind the Movement when we all sat around a table 'that' winter's night to get a strategy in place and to go on to form a conscious, actions relevant & this constructive platform. Since launch, the local requests on 'how to do more' and the global requests to collaborate leaves us ever committed.  Daily we're inspired and determined to build. We appreciate member's readiness. We appreciate some of South Africa's greatest minds, professionals and people from all walks of life who enjoyed the launch video and who signed up. We're doing this with you and as we stand in this place of where we are, the reality of things now and defending flaws never. We value our country enough to find the abundance right here and we have the acumen to navigate the Movement'...

She Saves

Image
She Knew, # her too, what she was dealing with. She knew rehabilitation there was none for what he suffered. Decency and sincerity..his own illness were words whose meaning he'd never understand and his much needed treatment would arrogantly be resisted. But he tested # her too on the meaning of so many words. She lived their meaning well while he struck her. Not for any fifty + years was he about anyone else outside of himself. Maybe next December.  She should never hold her breath. He knows only what he needs and the rest is wallpaper he gets to use fast. A good game which went on brilliantly for too long. She saw quickest. Kids! A show and maybe another mother to clean the farce ..finally retirement planning which she'd be groomed into ..to provide for him. Nothing ever for anyone else. Just him first. But.. She Saves. It's now his life alone to fix and to figure out all by himself. Maybe he'll be newly introduced to the honest meaning found in words De...

Her hair cascaded . Her skin silken.. The room fragranced and silence spoke so loud. How he, He missed her celibacy. Reserved to Jasmin, Neroli, Sandalwood. Reserved to Life. These spring nights. She blossomed

WIN

So the last week and a bit has not been easy for me and presumably any ordinary person who believes in this amazing and welcoming place which I also call home - South Africa. I have put myself into my work as an entrepreneur has had to and without much other luxury than to focus to survive. Ofcourse to thrive is the goal because it simply means I can do so much more for so many others than I currently do. Regardless I believe we do what we need to where we can and with what we have. It's something I was raised with. I believe in worrying about others enough to make my own life uncomfortable and somewhat stressful even when it could be the complete opposite. Call me stupid ( oh wait some of you already did that...)  but I believe that when we simply spectate, especially when so much around us needs fixing, then we participate in perpetuating a problem. So again, last week in particular was very hard to witness what people are capable of doing to other people. It was a ...

Let's be a Doing Nation

Image
My biggest personal impact and growth is the result and culmination of a few things. Mainly I can say it's with being the local partner to Renle Science and Technology which has opened my mind and eyes to a few things ..together with some of my own prior  exposure to bilateral maritime dealings, trade exchanges and corporate exposure. Ofcourse the country of Switzerland's local events and activities keep me forward facing with their insights and trends shared aside from having done some 3rd party, associated work. I was also engaged to a German national for a few years where I learnt alot more on a few things. Because this is a quick piece, I will end with saying that I want for us to be a united,  stimulated, growing, working and a well oiled economy - for us all to win alongside each other and with our global peers. The Collab Movement was founded with the highest intentions - and as a complementary plan - set out to achieve this with members, colleague's, or...

A families pain

Image
I spoke extensively about a book launch I attended and I believe Femicide by SA Human Rights Commissioner Angie Makwetla is a book every female and male should read. Simply because I believe we all can relate in one way or another to the subject of abusive relationships. Be it in one or witness to many. Or maybe we all need to be cautioned in one way or another. Men and women alike needing  to understand the complexities and warning signs of spousal discord or the brewing of it. I have watched a loved one for years get abused and so I could relate to the same pain I witnessed last night between all members of the deceased who had to speak about their murdered mom, sister, aunt and friend. A crime committed by their father and the kids struck with a double blow by the result of their parents choices. So often, too often, I sit across women and hear how in one way or another they too are victims of Femicide. Be it in the form of financial dependency, emotional abuse or in cle...

Launched ...now what!

Image
As you all know, we launched The Collab Movement today. This is more a short and personal share from me but also a very, very, very, very, very big Thank You to all for making our launch day so meaningful. Us, as a bunch of South Africans, got together to get a plan going and here we are -  right next to you, with you and for us all. To co-found such an NGO for me took a bunch of commonly shared reasons and not much self convincing. In short we all wanted more. More for SA,  more for us and more opportunities happening all round. We want us to thrive as a Nation, to be a counterpart to leading economies and we felt that we can do this - with a plan. For me personally the vision also stemmed from noting developments and challenges  in other Nations, while noting ours etc. It then got me thinking hey, we have similar issues but surely we can be delivering on economic building activities as they are too. Our diverse group shared the exact same sentiments, wants an...
